# Tesla AI head warns employees: 2026 will be "the toughest year of their lives"

At an all-staff meeting, Tesla's artificial intelligence (AI) head Ashok Elluswamy warned his employees that 2026 will be a tough year. Tesla has set an aggressive timeline for the production of the Optimus robot and the expansion of Robotaxi services. Musk's compensation plan is tied to the success of Robotaxi and Optimus. "If you work on Tesla's AI team, then next year (referring to 2026) will be the 'toughest year' of your life." (Business Insider)
