According to Zhitong Finance APP, China Nonferrous Mining (01258) is currently down over 4%, with a drop of 4.14% as of the time of writing, priced at HKD 13.89, with a transaction volume of HKD 103 million.

In terms of news, China Nonferrous Mining announced that at the end of June this year, the inner wall of the shaft of its subsidiary, China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Africa) Co., Ltd.'s Qianbixi Southeast ore body, was damaged and collapsed, resulting in one casualty. The company arranged for a temporary shutdown and conducted an expert on-site inspection and assessment afterward. Investigations revealed that the main and auxiliary shafts had passed through multiple aquifers, leading to long-term erosion and corrosion of the shaft walls, resulting in localized cracking.

The company stated that remediation of the Qianbixi Southeast ore body has been underway since September this year, with all repair work on the auxiliary shaft completed, and repairs on the main shaft are currently being implemented. It is expected that all repair work will be completed by mid-December this year, during which the Qianbixi Southeast ore body will be temporarily shut down.
