# Federal funds rate futures faced massive sell-offs as the U.S. canceled the release of the October employment report

After the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) announced that it would not release the employment report for October, January-expiring federal funds rate futures experienced a significant sell-off.

Approximately 30,000 January-expiring federal funds futures contracts were sold at a price level of 96.25, with prices dropping to the day's low.

The overnight index swap (OIS) pricing linked to the Federal Reserve's policy meeting indicates that market expectations for a loosening of policy by the Federal Reserve in the coming months have weakened.

The January contract briefly fell to 96.210, the lowest level since August 26
