# Easy guide to finding Mega Chimecho in Legends Z-A

The Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends Z-A introduces an exciting new addition to the roster with Mega Chimecho, a Steel and Psychic-type Pokemon that’s quickly becoming a favorite among trainers. This powerful evolution brings enhanced stats and impressive battle capabilities, making it a worthy addition to any competitive team.

### **Finding Chingling in Hyperspace Wild Zones**

Before trainers can obtain Mega Chimecho, they’ll need to start with its pre-evolution form. Chingling appears exclusively in the Mega Dimension DLC, which means purchasing the expansion is necessary to access this Pokemon. The tiny bell-shaped creature can only be found within Hyperspace Wild Zones, special dimensional rifts that appear randomly throughout the game world.

These rifts open for limited periods, creating a sense of urgency when they appear on the map. To access them, trainers must first complete the Hyperdimension Survey Missions, which serve as the gateway to this new content. Once unlocked, these zones provide opportunities to catch rare Pokemon that don’t appear anywhere else in the game.

Entering a Hyperspace Wild Zone requires special items called Donuts, which are prepared by Ansha and Hoopa. When a rift containing Chingling appears, trainers should act quickly to enter and attempt a catch before the window closes.

### **Evolving Chingling into Chimecho**

1. After successfully catching Chingling, trainers need to focus on building a strong bond with their new Pokemon. The evolution process requires high friendship levels, which can be accelerated by visiting cafes throughout Lumiose City. Taking Chingling to these establishments helps strengthen the relationship between trainer and Pokemon.
2. Once the friendship level is sufficiently high, the final requirement is simple: level up Chingling during nighttime hours. The game’s day and night cycle plays a crucial role here, so trainers should plan accordingly. With these conditions met, Chingling will evolve into Chimecho, bringing trainers one step closer to the Mega Evolution form.

### **Locating the Chimechite Mega Stone**

The Chimechite Mega Stone represents the key to unlocking Mega Chimecho’s full potential. Finding this rare item requires navigating a specific type of Hyperspace rift that’s more challenging than standard encounters.

Trainers should scan their maps for 2-Star Rifts marked with the designation _Unidentified Mega Stone Detected_. These special rifts indicate the presence of a Mega Stone guardian inside. Before entering, preparation is essential. Selecting a Donut with at least a +30 Hyperspace Level Bonus ensures adequate time to complete the challenge.

1. Inside the rift, trainers face a Rogue Mega Chimecho in battle. This encounter differs from typical wild Pokemon battles, as the timer creates additional pressure. The calorie content of the chosen Donut directly affects how long the rift remains open, so higher-quality Donuts provide more breathing room during the encounter.
2. Unlike other rift types that disappear after a failed attempt, Mega Evolution Rifts remain accessible. This forgiving mechanic allows trainers to retry as many times as needed without losing the opportunity permanently.
3. Upon defeating the Rogue Mega Chimecho, it drops the Chimechite Mega Stone. Equipping this item to any Chimecho enables Mega Evolution during battles, activated by accumulating Mega Energy and pressing the right stick when ready.

### **Battle performance and optimal moveset**

Mega Chimecho’s transformation brings substantial stat increases across multiple categories. Defense, Special Defense, Special Attack and Speed all receive considerable boosts, transforming this Pokemon into a formidable opponent. While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of powerhouses like Mega Metagross, Mega Chimecho holds its own in both player-versus-environment and player-versus-player battles, earning a Tier A classification in both formats.

The most effective moveset for Mega Chimecho combines Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam and Protect. This combination provides excellent type coverage while offering defensive options. Psyshock serves as the primary Psychic-type attack, while Shadow Ball handles Ghost and Psychic opponents. Dazzling Gleam covers Dark and Fighting types, and Protect offers crucial defensive utility.

Trainers seeking additional options can teach Mega Chimecho Steel Beam by locating the Secret TM vendor hidden within Lumiose City’s alleyways. This powerful Steel-type move adds another dimension to the Pokemon’s offensive capabilities, though it comes with recoil damage that requires careful management.

The moderate Speed stat means Protect can’t be spammed as frequently as with faster Pokemon, but the move still provides valuable protection during critical moments. Combined with Mega Chimecho’s improved defensive stats, this creates a Pokemon capable of handling diverse threats across various battle scenarios.
