# SpaceX's valuation hits a new high, and Musk's net worth surpasses $600 billion

According to Zhitong Finance APP, with SpaceX receiving a new round of valuation increase, Elon Musk's personal wealth has reached a new high, surpassing $600 billion for the first time.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the world's richest person currently has a net worth of nearly $638 billion. Previously, SpaceX's valuation reached approximately $800 billion in a round of internal stock trading, making the Texas-based rocket manufacturer the most valuable private company in the world. Musk is the founder and CEO of the company.

After applying a liquidity discount for private companies, Musk's 42% stake is valued at approximately $317 billion.

This is the first time the Bloomberg Wealth Index has calculated an individual's wealth exceeding $600 billion. The 54-year-old Musk first surpassed the $100 billion mark in 2020 when the market value of Tesla (TSLA.US), where he also serves as CEO, skyrocketed. When he was included in the index in May 2013, his net worth was only $4.8 billion.

If SpaceX successfully conducts its initial public offering (IPO) as planned as early as next year and achieves a valuation target of $1.5 trillion, Musk's wealth will further increase. At that time, the value of his shares will exceed $625 billion, making him likely to become the world's first trillionaire.

SpaceX has become a leading company in the orbital launch sector with its Falcon 9 rocket and provides internet services through its Starlink satellite system. In the previous round of secondary sales in July, the company's valuation was approximately $400 billion.
