# AMD President Lisa Su leads an executive team to visit Lenovo Group, and the cooperation between the two parties in the AI field may be upgraded

On the morning of December 16, Dr. Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), led an executive team to visit Lenovo Group's global headquarters in Beijing. Several photos circulating online show that, accompanied by multiple Lenovo executives, the AMD team toured several of Lenovo's latest products and technological achievements, including humanoid robots.

As the second-largest player in the global AI chip industry, following NVIDIA, AMD has rapidly enhanced its strategic position in the AI computing market over the past two years. TIME magazine recently announced its 2025 "Person of the Year" selection, naming "The Creators of AI" as the person of the year, which includes NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, xAI founder Elon Musk, AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

The interaction between Lisa Su and Lenovo Group is not the first. In March 2025, Lisa Su visited China, and the first company she visited upon arrival was Lenovo Group. Subsequently, both parties announced multiple collaborations in the AI PC field and further deepened their synergy in AI servers. AMD and Lenovo Group jointly serve several leading global cloud computing and AI cluster clients, including Microsoft, Meta, and Oracle.

Almost simultaneously, Lenovo Group is also accelerating its relationship with NVIDIA. It is understood that about a month ago, all members of Lenovo Group's board and core executive team were invited to visit NVIDIA's headquarters in California, USA, where both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on AI infrastructure, enterprise-level computing solutions, and potential ecosystem-level cooperation. Neither company disclosed any information regarding this exchange.

Previous information disclosed by Lenovo Group indicates that it will hold the Lenovo Technology Innovation Conference on January 6, 2026, at the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas, where it will focus on releasing its latest products, service solutions, and phased achievements of its hybrid AI strategy in the AI field. Many attending entrepreneurs include NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su.

In the data center and GPU chip sectors, the competition between NVIDIA and AMD has long gone beyond performance comparisons, encompassing a comprehensive contest of platform capabilities, software ecosystems, and system-level delivery efficiency. NVIDIA occupies the high-end training and inference market with CUDA and a mature software stack; AMD, on the other hand, attempts to break through in cloud computing and customized AI deployment with more cost-effective hardware solutions and an open software strategy For both companies, Lenovo Group has demonstrated significant strategic value that cannot be underestimated. As the world's largest edge AI vendor and one of the few technology companies capable of achieving large-scale commercialization in both B-end and C-end markets, Lenovo is not only an important customer of chip products but also a key channel for computing power to reach real application scenarios.

Although Lenovo has ranked first in global PC market share for over a decade, its strategic goals clearly extend beyond hardware leadership. Leveraging a hybrid AI strategy, Lenovo is attempting to transition from a traditional device manufacturer to an integrator of AI computing power and services in the process of global AI infrastructure reconstruction. Its core strategic ambition is to build an AI infrastructure ecosystem centered around edge computing on a global scale, allowing AI capabilities to permeate large-scale, cross-platform edge AI devices rather than remaining confined to models or the cloud
