# International architect firm Benoy withdraws from Hong Kong star business, 50 local employees leave immediately

International architectural design firm Benoy recently announced the immediate closure of its offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, affecting approximately 50 employees in Hong Kong who will leave immediately. At the same time, the company will consolidate its global operations into two design hubs in London and Shanghai.

Benoy responded to Hong Kong 01, stating that this decision reflects changes in the market environment and aims to concentrate resources to serve clients more efficiently. Benoy's CEO Tom Cartledge mentioned that this was a difficult decision. The Hong Kong and Singapore offices have played a significant role in establishing the company's reputation in the Asia-Pacific region over the past twenty years, and the company will retain its team of Asia-Pacific experts in the future.

Benoy is primarily involved in shopping mall design and has participated in iconic projects such as Hysan Place, Elements Mall, and The Loop. The company's most recent architectural design project in Hong Kong was the first phase of The Loop in 2021
