# BUZZ-Aligos rises as mid‑stage trial for hepatitis B drug advances

Shares of biotech firm Aligos Therapeutics (ALGS.O) up 3% at $8.25 Co says it is testing its experimental hepatitis B drug, pevifoscorvir sodium, aimed at blocking virus replication, in a mid-stage study with 144 patients

Expects first interim data from study in early 2026, main results in 2027

ALGS says earlier tests showed the oral drug reduced infection markers

Separately, co announced that its chief medical officer, Dr Hardean Achneck, has resigned and a search for a successor is underway

ALGS was down ~25% in 2025
