# Energy Up on Geopolitical Tensions, Demand Optimism - Energy Roundup

Shares of energy companies rose amid elevated geopolitical tensions and demand optimism.

The International Energy Agency raised its forecast for global oil-demand growth due to an improved economic outlook and lower crude prices, but warned supply is still expected to outpace consumption.

Speaking on his Truth Social network, President Trump rescinded threats of tariffs against European nations, as a spat over Greenland looked close to resolution.

The spat exposed cracks in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, however, some strategists said. The risk of supply interruptions in the Middle East also remained elevated.

After pulling back from strikes on Iran last week, President Trump reportedly pressed aides for what he termed "decisive" military options.
