According to Polymarket, with international gold prices breaking through $5,000/ounce, the betting pool for "Gold or ETH: Which will first reach $5,000?" has been successfully settled. Ultimately, this betting event attracted nearly $1.62 million. Previously, on January 9th, Polymarket reported that bets on "Gold or ETH: Which will first reach $5,000?" totaled nearly $840,000, with the probability of "Gold reaching $5,000 first" initially reported as 68%, and a deadline of June 30, 2026. If neither reaches $5,000 by then, settlement will be made at a 50%:50% ratio. The gold price was referenced to the COMEX gold continuous contract; the ETH price was referenced to the Binance ETH/USDT price.
