# The government promotes the "Innovation and Technology Accelerator Pilot Scheme" with a funding cap of HKD 30 million. The application period is until April this year

The Innovation and Technology Commission has launched the "Innovation and Technology Accelerator Pilot Program," inviting eligible innovation and technology service organizations to apply before April 30, 2026. A spokesperson stated that the policy address proposed a funding of HKD 180 million to implement the program, aiming to attract more experienced professional startup service organizations from both domestic and overseas to establish accelerator bases in Hong Kong, and to provide more comprehensive and adequate support for the development and needs of startups through their business networks and experience.

Under the program, the government will provide funding at a matching ratio of 1:2, with the government contributing 1 for every 2 from the service organizations, to cover necessary expenses for establishing and operating innovation and technology accelerators, with a funding cap of HKD 30 million. The Innovation and Technology Commission has established a review committee composed of individuals with extensive experience in technology and business development to evaluate the applications. The evaluation criteria include the experience of the innovation and technology service organizations, operational models, funding and resources, quality of management and project teams, and the benefits to Hong Kong's innovation and technology ecosystem
