# FTSE MIB Rises on Utilities and Energy

The FTSE MIB rose 0.5% to close at 46,636 on Wednesday, supported by gains in utilities and energy stocks.

Eni advanced 1.4% amid higher oil prices and heightened Middle East tensions after the US downed an Iranian drone.

Utilities outperformed, with Enel up 1.3%, Snam rising 2.4% and Terna gaining 2.3%.

Luxury stocks also advanced, led by Ferrari (+2.5%), Brunello Cucinelli (+3.5%) and Moncler (+0.8%).

STMicroelectronics and Stellantis climbed 3.6% and 3.5%, respectively.

Financials were mixed, with UniCredit (-0.6%) and BPER (-0.9%) ahead of earnings on Thursday, while Intesa Sanpaolo gained 0.9% and Mediobanca surged 5.8% on renewed takeover speculation.

Leonardo fell 4.7% and Prysmian dropped 2.4%.

On the macro front, Italy’s flash estimate showed headline inflation at 1.0% in January, in line with expectations, while euro area inflation also matched forecasts at 1.7%.
