加拿大蒙特利爾銀行（BMO）EMEA 利率策略主管 Laurence Mutkin 認為，美聯儲主席提名人凱文·沃什（獲得美國參議院確認並上任之後）可以在縮減資產負債表（縮表）方面借鑑英國央行的經驗教訓，在不驚擾市場的情況下縮表。

英國央行在四年內成功地將其債券投資組合規模縮小了近一半，且未引發明顯的市場擾動這包括提供充足的流動性支持：英國央行推出了短期流動性工具 —— 短期回購 (STR) 和指數化長期回購（ILTR）。
