(FAWIEC), the wholly owned subsidiary of FAW Group that manages its overseas business, has appointed Metro Group as the official distributor of the Hongqi brand in Thailand. Metro Group already operates dealerships for Zeekr, as well as Japanese brands such as Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda. It also serves as a dealer partner for Mercedes-Benz, adding relevant experience in the luxury segment where FAWIEC plans to position Hongqi. According to a report from _Autolifethailand_, FAWIEC had initially planned to manage operations in Thailand directly. It later opted to appoint an official importer and distributor, as establishing an overseas subsidiary could be procedurally complex for a largely state-owned enterprise. The company is following the same distributor-based strategy in European markets. FAWIEC will launch the E-HS9 full-size electric SUV as the first Hongqi model in Thailand in March, with sales expected to commence mid-year. The company has set a sales target of 100 units for this year. At a later stage, FAWIEC plans to introduce the Bestune brand to target the mass market, starting with a D-segment model that could be priced from around one million baht (approximately 27,000 euros). The company has also evaluated plans to set up a vehicle assembly plant in Thailand. In Singapore, FAWIEC has appointed Eurokars Group, which represents 18 automotive brands in the country, including Rolls-Royce and Pagani, as Hongqi’s official distributor. The company held the official debut of the E-HS9 at the Singapore Motorshow 2026 last month and, according to a report from The Straits Times, plans to conduct the launch around April. FAWIEC also plans to expand Hongqi’s global presence to other right-hand drive markets, including Australia, Malaysia and the UK, in the second half of 2026. FAW Group sold more than 460,000 vehicles under the Hongqi brand in 2025, up 11.7 per cent from 2024 and marking the eighth consecutive year of sales growth. New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) contributed 149,000 units to this volume and recorded 29.8 per cent year-on-year growth. For 2026, the company has set a target of selling 550,000 Hongqi vehicles. autolifethailand.tv (in Thai), facebook.com, faw.com, straitstimes.com ## 相關資訊與研究 - [Gujarat Raffia Closes Trading Window Ahead of March-Quarter Results](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/281709427.md) - [Two drones hit Iraq's Rumaila North oilfield, wound three Iraqi workers - security, energy sources](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/281682161.md) - [BioSyent’s FeraMAX Tops Canadian Iron Supplement Rankings for 11th Straight Year](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/281391664.md) - [Forbo Shareholders Back All Proposals and Lift Governance Continuity at 98th AGM](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/281558008.md) - [ZAWYA: Kuwait fortifies water safety net](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/281607945.md)
