# AI startup Anthropic appoints former White House Deputy Chief of Staff to its board

Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic announced the appointment of Chris Liddell to its board of directors.

Liddell previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Microsoft (MSFT.US), Vice Chairman at General Motors (GM.US), and was Deputy Chief of Staff in the White House during President Trump's first term, participating in the presidential transition process three times.

Liddell will be the sixth member of Anthropic's board of directors
