# Toyota claims new RAV4 PHEV has ‘world-leading’ efficiency with 58% more electric range

The new Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) now delivers up to 150 km (93 miles) of electric range, 58% more than the outgoing version.

## Toyota bumps up electric range in the new RAV4 PHEV

The RAV4 was once again Toyota’s top-selling vehicle in 2025, edging out the Tesla Model Y as the world’s best-selling car.

After launching the new RAV4 plug-in hybrid on Thursday, Toyota said the SUV has been “reborn” with an all-new PHEV system.

The new-generation PHEV setup delivers “world-leading energy efficiency,” Toyota claimed. With a new large-capacity battery and added SiC semiconductors, the RAV4 now offers about 150 km (93 miles) of electric range. That’s a 58% increase from the outgoing version, with 95 km (59 miles) EV range.
