# China regains the status of Germany's largest trading partner

According to data from the German Federal Statistical Office, China will replace the United States as Germany's largest trading partner in 2025, with a total import and export trade volume between China and Germany reaching 251.8 billion euros, an annual growth of 2.1%. The United States was Germany's largest trading partner in 2024, ending China's leading trade record that lasted for eight consecutive years from 2016 to 2023.

The data shows that last year, the trade volume between the United States and Germany was 240.5 billion euros, a year-on-year decline of 5%, still making the U.S. Germany's second-largest trading partner. The German Federal Statistical Office pointed out that the ranking change is mainly due to the continuous decrease in exports from Germany to the United States, while imports from China continue to increase. The Netherlands ranked third last year with a trade volume of 209.1 billion euros, an annual growth of 3.3%
