航空旅行被認為是最難以脱碳的行業之一，而航空乘客的數量仍在不斷增加。電動飛機和可持續航空燃料距離在行業排放中產生影響還有很長的路要走——如果它們能做到的話。

但新的研究表明，航空業仍然可以通過更高效地使用飛機來顯著減少其氣候影響。事實上，僅僅重新考慮客艙佈局就可以將排放減少多達一半。
