AMD's stock price rose more than 10% in pre-market trading after closing at $196.60 the previous trading day. The company signed a similar agreement with OpenAI last year, which was hailed as a vote of confidence in its chips and software, significantly boosting its stock price. A recent series of chip supply agreements highlights the enormous demand for processors in the artificial intelligence industry. Meta has also reached an agreement with AMD's larger competitor Nvidia to purchase millions of AI chips. In the context of increasing scrutiny on circular trading, the collaboration between the two parties underscores the deepening ties among some of the top companies in the artificial intelligence industry. Meta and OpenAI will hold stakes in one of their most important suppliers, while rival chipmaker Nvidia is eyeing investments from some of its largest customers, including the parent company of ChatGPT. AMD CEO Lisa Su stated at a press conference that AMD will supply Meta with six terawatts of chips, starting with one terawatt from the upcoming MI450 flagship hardware set to launch in the second half of this year. Investor concerns about the artificial intelligence market also extend to the long-term returns from the massive spending by big tech companies to expand their data center infrastructure. It is estimated that the total capital expenditures of Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta this year will reach at least $630 billion, with most of the spending focused on data centers and AI chips. In addition to AMD's flagship graphics chips, Meta also plans to purchase central processing units, including variants customized for social media platform demands. Su stated that the customized CPUs will be adjusted to provide powerful performance while minimizing energy consumption as much as possible. This deal will include two generations of AMD CPUs. “There’s no doubt that Mark is ambitious in achieving his goals, and we want to leverage our technology in all aspects to truly help Meta achieve that,” Su said, referring to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Meta helped optimize the design of the MI450, which is suitable for a computing process known as inference, where chatbots (like OpenAI's ChatGPT) respond to user inquiries. Industry analysts expect that the scale of the inference hardware market will dwarf the market for the equipment needed to run large AI models. As part of the agreement, AMD will issue 160 million warrants with an exercise price of $0.01. The warrants will vest during the transaction and will vest after AMD's stock price reaches a performance target of $600. In addition to the stock price target, Meta will also need to meet "technical and business considerations" for each batch of warrants "Meta has placed a big bet on AMD," Su said. Meta's infrastructure chief Santosh Janardhan said in a call with reporters that Meta plans to continue purchasing chips from other vendors while developing its own processors. Insiders revealed that Meta has been negotiating with Google to use the company's tensor processors for artificial intelligence work. Janardhan stated that the scale of the data centers and infrastructure that Meta is building requires multiple chip suppliers and approaches. "All chip manufacturers will ultimately have a place," Janardhan said ### 相關股票 - [Direxion Semicon Bull 3X (SOXL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/SOXL.US.md) - [Direxion Daily AMD Bull 2X Shares (AMUU.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMUU.US.md) - [T-Rex 2X Long NVIDIA Daily Target ETF (NVDX.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/NVDX.US.md) - [Direxion Daily NVDA Bull 2X Shares (NVDU.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/NVDU.US.md) - [AMD (AMD.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMD.US.md) - [GraniteShares 2x Long META Daily ETF (FBL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/FBL.US.md) - [iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/SOXX.US.md) - [YieldMax NVDA Option Income Strategy ETF (NVDY.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/NVDY.US.md) - [Direxion Daily Meta Bull 2x Shares (METU.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/METU.US.md) - [GraniteShares 2x Long AMD Daily ETF (AMDL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMDL.US.md) - [Meta Platforms (META.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/META.US.md) - [Invesco PHLX Semiconductor ETF (SOXQ.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/SOXQ.US.md) - [VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/SMH.US.md) - [NVIDIA (NVDA.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/NVDA.US.md) - [Roundhill META WeeklyPay ETF (METW.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/METW.US.md) - [GraniteShares 2x Long NVDA Daily ETF (NVDL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/NVDL.US.md) ## 相關資訊與研究 - [Meta Opens Manhattan Store As Capital Shifts From Metaverse To AI](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279834632.md) - [Meta spokesperson on exec stock options: share price increase must be on an exceedingly aggressive 5-year timeline](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280396775.md) - [Meta makes 'big bet' on top leaders with stock options as pressure builds to catch up in AI](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280402703.md) - [Meta is having trouble with rogue AI agents](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279688226.md) - [Meta actually is keeping its VR metaverse running, for now](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279825430.md)
