# Baidu Launches DuClaw To Simplify Deployment Of OpenClaw AI Agents

**Baidu Inc.** (NASDAQ:BIDU) launched **DuClaw** on Wednesday, a fully managed, zero-deployment service built on Baidu AI Cloud. It gives users immediate access to the **OpenClaw** agent platform — no server setup, no model Application Programming Interface (API) key configuration required.

## What DuClaw Does And How It Works

DuClaw hosts a ready-to-use OpenClaw environment on Baidu AI Cloud’s infrastructure. Users skip system image selection and server configuration entirely.

The service launches via web interface. Baidu plans to extend support to enterprise platforms **WeCom**, **DingTalk** and **Feishu**.

It ships with pre-built Baidu skills — including Baidu Search, Baidu Baike, and Baidu Scholar. Users can also select from multiple mainstream foundation models based on their needs.

## DuClaw Builds On Baidu’s Recent OpenClaw Push

This is not Baidu’s first OpenClaw move in 2026. In February, Baidu AI Cloud introduced a Rapid Deployment Solution for OpenClaw. It allowed developers to deploy via visual configuration on Baidu AI Cloud infrastructure.

DuClaw goes further — it removes the deployment step altogether.

Also in February, Baidu App embedded OpenClaw directly into its flagship search product. That integration targeted a reach of approximately 700 million monthly active users, ahead of the Lunar New Year.

## Why OpenClaw Adoption Has Been Slow Until Now

OpenClaw is an open-source agent platform. It lets agents retrieve information, coordinate workflows and execute actions across applications.

The platform attracted over 100,000 GitHub stars and 2 million visitors in a single week after launch, according to Reuters citing OpenClaw creator **Peter Steinberger**.

But adoption hit friction. Environment configuration, model integration, and system reliability have remained common challenges for users attempting deployment. Baidu’s DuClaw targets those pain points.

In February, Steinberger joined **OpenAI** to lead next-generation personal agent development. OpenAI CEO **Sam Altman** announced the move on X, writing: “Steinberger is joining OpenAI to drive the next generation of personal agents.”

Steinberger added: “OpenClaw is becoming a foundation: open, independent, and just getting started.”

Baidu is running a promotional offer through March to drive adoption among developers and AI enthusiasts. First-time DuClaw subscribers pay 17.8 Chinese Yuan ($2.59) per month.
