Lisa Su began her two-day visit to South Korea on Wednesday, where she met with Samsung Electronics' co-CEO for mobile business, Lee Tae-won, at Samsung's headquarters in Seoul. Upon entering the building, she told reporters, "There are many topics to discuss," but did not disclose further details. "We will have a good conversation." Industry insiders expect Lisa Su to continue discussions with Samsung Electronics on business cooperation, focusing on the AI ecosystem covering personal computers and tablets. Before meeting with Samsung Electronics, Lisa Su met with Upstage's head, Sung Kim, to explore broader collaboration to drive AI innovation. Since AMD's participation in Upstage's KRW 62 billion (approximately USD 41.3 million) Series B transitional investment last year, AMD and Upstage have been strategic partners. Under the expanded cooperation agreement, Upstage will deploy AMD's Instinct MI355 accelerator over the next year according to a phased roadmap, leveraging its graphics processing units (GPUs) to enhance its large language models (LLMs) and document processing engines. This deployment will also support the development of autonomous AI models, which are part of a government-led AI foundation model project in South Korea. Upstage has entered the second phase of this project alongside SK Telecom and LG AI Research. AMD and Upstage stated that their collaboration aims to strengthen South Korea's local AI ecosystem and diversify the country's autonomous AI infrastructure. Upstage noted that this collaboration, supported by AMD's GPUs, is expected to play a key role in advancing its LLM (Lifecycle Management) project and building South Korea's autonomous AI models. "Combining AMD's GPUs with local infrastructure will lay the foundation for South Korea to become a true competitive force in the global AI arena," said Sung Kim. Lisa Su stated that she chose Upstage as a partner because the startup is at the forefront of AI innovation in South Korea. She said, "This collaboration combines AMD Instinct GPUs and ROCm open-source software with Upstage's expertise, aiming to enhance South Korea's autonomous AI capabilities and provide the performance, efficiency, and open ecosystem needed to accelerate AI innovation." The day before, Lisa Su met with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong. This meeting took place after Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday that it had signed an agreement with AMD, under which Samsung will supply its latest high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips for AMD's next-generation AI accelerators According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Samsung Electronics has been designated as the preferred supplier of HBM4 for AMD's latest graphics processing unit (GPU) Instinct MI455X aimed at artificial intelligence data centers ### 相關股票 - [GraniteShares 2x Long AMD Daily ETF (AMDL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMDL.US.md) - [XL2CSOPSMSN-U (09747.HK)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/09747.HK.md) - [XL2CSOPSMSN (07747.HK)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/07747.HK.md) - [Samsung Electronics (SSNGY.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/SSNGY.US.md) - [Invesco AI and Next Gen Software ETF (IGPT.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/IGPT.US.md) - [Direxion Daily AMD Bull 2X Shares (AMUU.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMUU.US.md) - [AMD (AMD.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMD.US.md) ## 相關資訊與研究 - [AMD stock surge as analysts stay bullish on AI demand](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279306636.md) - [Samsung and AMD Expand Strategic Collaboration on Next-Generation AI Memory Solutions](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279666486.md) - [If the Strait of Hormuz Reopens, This ETF Could Soar](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279519992.md) - [Sherman Porfolios LLC Takes $1.05 Million Position in Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. $AMD](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279771243.md) - [AMD or Micron: Billionaire David Tepper Pulls the Trigger on One Top AI Chip Stock](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/278762752.md)
