This South Korean startup is in talks with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to potentially procure 10,000 MI355 AI accelerators. Previously, CEO Kim Sung met with AMD CEO Lisa Su in Seoul. Kim stated that while South Korea already has a large number of NVIDIA chips, the company is seeking to expand to alternative suppliers like AMD, which is expected to broaden its computing power portfolio against the backdrop of growing demand for large AI infrastructure. At the time of these discussions, Upstage is participating in a government-supported national AI foundational model development competition, commonly referred to as the "AI Squid Game." This program allows four teams to compete, with model evaluations conducted every six months under the supervision of the Ministry of Science and ICT, with two finalist teams expected to be selected early next year. Upstage is preparing a large language model with approximately 200 billion parameters for the upcoming summer round, with a strategy to provide high-performance systems at relatively low costs through a combination of scale and efficiency. Meanwhile, the company is also looking beyond the South Korean market. Kim stated that Upstage is targeting markets such as Vietnam and the UAE, offering "sovereign AI" systems designed to operate within national borders. This outward expansion, along with the potential deal with AMD, indicates that Upstage is building a strategy that integrates infrastructure diversification with cost-effective model development to address domestic competition and the growing international demand for localized AI capabilities ### 相關股票 - [GraniteShares 2x Long AMD Daily ETF (AMDL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMDL.US.md) - [NVIDIA (NVDA.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/NVDA.US.md) - [Direxion Daily AMD Bull 2X Shares (AMUU.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMUU.US.md) - [AMD (AMD.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMD.US.md) ## 相關資訊與研究 - [AMD Eyes Major AI Win with 10,000-Chip Deal in Korea](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280108451.md) - [Vietnam Backs AMD R&D Hub, Targets 9,000 Trained Tech Workers by 2030](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279971683.md) - [2 Beaten-Down AI Stocks Investors Shouldn’t Dump Yet](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279827679.md) - [From AI Fabs to Fintech: Four New Tools for Fast Narratives](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279800895.md) - [AITX Expands SARA AI Platform Licenses and Deployments](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279768064.md)
