# The president of Google stated: The U.S. needs to increase energy development efforts to provide power for artificial intelligence

Google's President and Chief Investment Officer Ruth Porat stated on Monday that the expansion of electricity supply in the United States may not keep pace with demand in the artificial intelligence industry. She made this remark regarding the massive power required for the company's AI data center expansion.

Speaking at the Cambridge Energy Week (CERAWeek) conference in Houston, Texas, she said, "We are concerned that we are not operating at full throttle in terms of energy supply."
