The terms of the deal have not been disclosed. An Amazon spokesperson stated in a statement: "We are excited about Fauna's vision of 'creating capable, safe, and fun robots for everyone.' Combining Amazon's expertise in robotics with our decades of experience in earning the trust of household users through our retail and device businesses, we look forward to inventing new ways to make customers' lives better and more convenient." Fauna Robotics was founded in 2024 by former Meta and Google engineers. Earlier this year, the New York-based company launched a bipedal robot named Sprout, priced at $50,000, standing 3 feet 6 inches (approximately 1.07 meters) tall and weighing 50 pounds (approximately 22.7 kilograms), designed to be "affordable and user-friendly," while being "truly easy to use" for software developers. The company stated at the time that it had signed on Disney and Boston Dynamics, a subsidiary of Hyundai, as early customers. Fauna stated that its approximately 50 employees will join Amazon's team in New York. Fauna co-founder and CEO Rob Cochran expressed his "immense excitement" about Fauna joining Amazon in a LinkedIn post. Cochran wrote: "We are thrilled about what joining the Amazon team means for our future. Moving forward, we will continue to operate as Fauna Robotics under Amazon." Amazon has invested in robotics for over a decade, primarily for its warehousing operations. In 2012, Amazon acquired Kiva Systems for $775 million, laying the foundation for its Amazon Robotics division focused on warehouse automation. Now, Amazon is enhancing its robotics capabilities again through acquisitions. Last week, Amazon announced the acquisition of Swiss robotics company Rivr, which focuses on developing robots for "doorstep delivery." Amazon stated that it hopes to leverage its robotics expertise, along with its long-standing experience in retail and devices, to better explore the potential of personal robots, thereby making customers' lives better and more convenient. Amazon had previously attempted to create home robots. In 2021, Amazon launched a low-profile mobile personal robot named Astro, priced at $1,600, but the device was only available for purchase by invitation. By acquiring Fauna, Amazon is entering the increasingly crowded humanoid robot market. Tesla is developing a humanoid robot named Optimus and plans to produce it at its Fremont factory in California. In January of this year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that the company would repurpose part of the existing production lines for its flagship models, Model S and Model X, into an "Optimus factory," aiming to achieve "an annual production of 1 million units." Other humanoid robot competitors include 1X, Figure AI, Apptronik, Agility Robotics based in California, and Yushu Technology from China ### 相關股票 - [Amazon (AMZN.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMZN.US.md) - [GraniteShares 1.25 Long TSLA Daily ETF (TSL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/TSL.US.md) - [Tesla (TSLA.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/TSLA.US.md) - [Direxion Daily TSLA Bull 2X Shares (TSLL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/TSLL.US.md) - [AXS TSLA Bear Daily ETF (TSLQ.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/TSLQ.US.md) - [Leverage Shares 2X Long TSLA Daily ETF (TSLG.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/TSLG.US.md) - [GraniteShares 2x Long TSLA Daily ETF (TSLR.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/TSLR.US.md) - [Direxion Daily AMZN Bull 2X Shares (AMZU.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMZU.US.md) - [Simplify Volt TSLA Revolution ETF (TESL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/TESL.US.md) - [GraniteShares 2x Long AMZN Daily ETF (AMZZ.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMZZ.US.md) - [T-Rex 2X Long Tesla Daily Target ETF (TSLT.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/TSLT.US.md) - [Roundhill AMZN WeeklyPay ETF (AMZW.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/AMZW.US.md) ## 相關資訊與研究 - [Dr.BRID C Launches Next-Generation Biotech Skincare Line on Amazon](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280188774.md) - [Amazon acquires startup Rivr to test robots for 'doorstep delivery'](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279853605.md) - [Elon Musk Found Liable By Jury For Misleading Twitter Investors In $44 Billion Deal, Faces Potential $2.5 Billion Damages](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280011779.md) - [Musk found liable to Twitter shareholders in fraud lawsuit over $44 billion takeover, Bloomberg says](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/279998260.md) - [Amazon Unleashes Zoox Robotaxis In Austin And Miami To Challenge Waymo Dominance](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280343320.md)
