In the South Korean exchange market, AI application key storage chip manufacturer SK Hynix saw a drop of 6%. In the Tokyo market, flash memory manufacturer Kioxia Holdings fell by 4.4%. Previously, Micron Technology and SanDisk also recorded similar declines in the New York market on Wednesday. Google stated that its new TurboQuant technology could significantly reduce memory usage for large language models and vector search engines. However, bullish individuals optimistic about the strong upward trend in global memory chips believe that efficiency improvements will increase rather than decrease demand—this ancient theory is known as the "Jevons Paradox." J.P. Morgan's trading department cited this 19th-century theory in a report. The bank's analysts indicated that investors might take profits from this news, but memory demand does not pose a threat in the short term. Driven by strong demand from the AI boom, prices for memory and storage products have continued to rise in recent months due to supply shortages, leading related stocks to experience exponential growth, with Kioxia's cumulative increase reaching 700% since the end of August last year. Google's news has triggered cautious sentiment in the market regarding a potential decline in demand, but some analysts have countered this, arguing that the actual situation is quite the opposite. The Jevons Paradox originates from a British economist's theory about coal production, which states that the higher the efficiency, the greater the demand will rise. Last year, when China's low-cost AI model DeepSeek raised concerns about a decline in demand for advanced technology, this theory was also mentioned. Andrew Jackson, an analyst at Ortus Advisors, wrote in a report on the Smartkarma platform that considering the "extreme supply tightness," Google's technological breakthrough has "minimal impact" on demand. For Kioxia, "it is reasonable to see some profit-taking after such a significant increase." ### 相關股票 - [Alphabet - C (GOOG.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/GOOG.US.md) - [Alphabet (GOOGL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/GOOGL.US.md) - [Direxion Daily Googl Bear 1x Shares (GGLS.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/GGLS.US.md) - [Roundhill GOOGL WeeklyPay ETF (GOOW.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/GOOW.US.md) - [Direxion Daily GOOGL Bull 2X Shares (GGLL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/GGLL.US.md) - [Direxion Semicon Bull 3X (SOXL.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/SOXL.US.md) - [iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/SOXX.US.md) - [VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/quote/SMH.US.md) ## 相關資訊與研究 - [Google’s Android Automotive is moving from the dashboard to the ‘brain’ of the car](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280345973.md) - [Wedmont Private Capital Acquires 4,848 Shares of Alphabet Inc. $GOOGL](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280624721.md) - [Direxion Daily GOOGL Bull 2X Shares (NASDAQ:GGLL) Trading Down 7.8% - Time to Sell?](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280367180.md) - [Ex-Google exec Matt Brittin named new BBC boss](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280485259.md) - [Google to label verified investment apps in India amid regulatory crackdown on fraud](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/280601979.md)
