# According to reports, Google is developing a screenless Fitbit fitness band

According to sources cited by Bloomberg, Google is developing a new smartwatch under the Fitbit brand and plans to release it later this year. The new device will come with some basic features, with a paid subscription required to unlock more functionalities.

Sources say the new fitness band looks very similar to the screenless fitness band currently offered by Whoop. Unlike Whoop, Google will charge for this hardware, while Whoop's business model is entirely subscription-based
