# Qiu Yinghua: The special team for mainland enterprises going overseas will focus on attracting key enterprises to go overseas in an orderly manner through Hong Kong and has established a preliminary work plan

The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Qiu Yinghua, stated in response to a member's question that the Mainland Enterprises Going Global Task Force held its first large-scale promotional event in Shanghai last November, attended by leaders from the State Council's Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Shanghai Municipal Government, attracting over 500 business representatives. The Task Force has formulated a publicity plan and will continue to promote through its offices in the Mainland, the Investment Promotion Agency's dedicated team for attracting investment and talent in the Mainland, and the Trade Development Council's offices in the Mainland, along with chambers of commerce and industry associations, to hold promotional activities with different industry themes in Hong Kong and the Mainland.

On the other hand, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Commerce in February this year to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Mainland in the field of overseas comprehensive services, enhancing the ability to support Mainland enterprises going global. The memorandum also explicitly supports the professional service platform established by the Trade Development Council to provide services for Mainland enterprises going global.

Qiu Yinghua further pointed out that in response to the constantly changing global trade landscape and geopolitical situation, more and more Mainland enterprises are planning to go global to diversify business risks and expand international operations. To better support Mainland enterprises in going global through Hong Kong in an orderly manner, a cross-bureau, cross-department, and cross-agency task force for Mainland enterprises going global was established last October, serving as a one-stop platform to actively attract Mainland enterprises to go global through Hong Kong. The Task Force has set a preliminary work plan that will focus on attracting key or strategically valuable Mainland enterprises to go global through Hong Kong in an orderly manner
