# Hearing for Warsh's Federal Reserve Chair Nomination Set for April 16 in U.S. Senate

On Friday, local time, according to Politico, U.S. President Trump's nominee for Federal Reserve Chairman, Kevin Warsh, will attend a confirmation hearing before the U.S. Senate Banking Committee on April 16.

Media reports indicate that the U.S. Department of the Treasury has prioritized Warsh's confirmation. Derek Theurer, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, who is responsible for Warsh's nomination, has fully dedicated himself to this process.

Since returning to the White House, Trump has expressed dissatisfaction with current Fed Chairman Powell. In January, he nominated Warsh to replace Powell.

However, on the same day, a U.S. judge rejected the Trump administration's request to reinstate a subpoena for Powell. Nick Timiraos, a prominent financial reporter known as the "Fed Whisperer," stated that this ruling clears the way for Pirro to appeal to a higher court. However, this appeal could delay the confirmation of Warsh as Fed Chairman.

Powell's term as Fed Chairman is set to expire next month. However, Powell stated in March that if Warsh is not confirmed by the time Powell's term ends in May, he will continue to serve as Fed Chairman, a legal arrangement.
