Kuwait The Shuwaikh oil sector complex -- which houses the Kuwait Petroleum Corp. or KPC headquarters and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Oil -- was struck by a drone, resulting in a fire and "substantial material damage," according to a KPC statement. Several operational facilities managed by KPC affiliates -- the Kuwait National Petroleum Co. or KNPC and Petrochemical Industries Co. or PIC -- were also hit in separate drone attacks. These incidents caused fires and "significant material damage." KPC did not provide further details. KNPC operates the 346,000 b/d Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery and the 454,000 b/d Mina Abdullah Refinery. PIC produces polypropylene, benzene, paraxylene, styrene monomer, polyethylene terephthalate and various fertilizers, exporting around 60% of its output. United Arab Emirates In the UAE, falling debris from the successful interception of drones triggered fires and damage at the Borouge Petrochemical Plant in Al Ruwais Industrial City. An assessment of the damage is ongoing, the Abu Dhabi Media Office reported. Borouge is 54% owned by Adnoc, with Borealis holding a 36% stake and the remainder listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. The complex features three ethane crackers with annual production capacity of 2.63 million metric tons of polyethylene, 2.18 million mt of polypropylene and 750,000 mt of olefins. Bahrain An Iranian drone struck one of Bapco Energies' storage facilities, causing a fire in a storage tank. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the company is now assessing the damage. No details were released on the tank's contents. Bapco Energies operates Bahrain's sole refinery, the 267,000 b/d Sitra refinery in Manama.
