Export inspections reported by the Agriculture Department fell back from the prior week, with all three grains falling below the levels needed to meet USDA expectations.
In its latest report published Monday, the USDA said that corn export inspections for the week ended July 16 totaled 1.55 million metric tons, while soybeans inspections were 296,972 tons and wheat inspections were 213,993 tons. All three were lower than the prior week. They also all fell under the levels needed to meet the USDA's latest export forecasts, according to data compiled by the Hightower Report.
Mexico was the top destination for both U.S. corn and wheat for the week, while China was the leading destination for soybeans.
CBOT grain futures are mixed in trading Monday. Most-active corn futures are up 1% this morning, while soybeans rise 1.9% and wheat is down 1.1%.
