Last Friday, Taylor Swift returned to the summit of the albums chart in Australia with her latest studio effort *Fearless (Taylor’s Version)*, the re-recorded take on her sophomore title *Fearless*. Fans all around the world clamored to buy and stream the set, especially down under, where they sent it right to the top.

With one more win to her name in the country, Swift advances again on the list of the musicians who have scored the most chart-toppers, and now only one other woman stands in front of her.

Swift has now collected eight No. 1 titles on the Australian albums chart, an impressive sum for any act, but especially for a solo female. By reaching the summit again, the “Love Story” singer breaks out of a tie with Kylie Minogue, who has thus far accrued seven leaders in her home country. Swift matched her less than six months ago when *Evermore* hit the top spot back in December.

According to ARIA, the organization that puts together the weekly charts in Australia, just one solo female musician has collected more No. 1s on the albums ranking, and Swift still has a ways to go before she matches her performance.

Madonna leads the way among female stars with the most No. 1 albums in Australian history, as 11 of her releases have risen to the peak position. When looking at all acts, the pop icon comes in behind only The Beatles for the most rulers, as the Fab Four collected 14 champions both while they were together and after they split. The “Like a Virgin” star is on the same level as U2 on that all-time ranking.

Swift has now hit No. 1 on the Australian albums chart with all of the following eight releases: *Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore* and now *Fearless (Taylor’s Version).*

While Swift may be behind Madonna by three albums, she could very well be able to catch up to her in the coming years, or perhaps even just the next few months. There’s no telling how quickly Swift will dole out the other five titles she’s planning on re-recording, and seeing as she’s perhaps the most popular musician on the planet right now, she could easily send at least a handful of them to the peak position in Australia. Swift is also likely working on new material at the same time, and she rarely misses the No. 1 rung with a brand new project.
