Following in the footsteps of Netflix, Apple TV+ is raising its prices. It is set to release new high-end and affordable versions of AirPods next year.

After Netflix, Apple's streaming media and other services have also raised their prices. On Wednesday, October 25th, Eastern Time, Apple raised the price of TV+ in the United States and some overseas markets. The monthly subscription fee for TV+ increased from $6.99 to $9.99, and the annual fee increased from $69 to $99, representing increases of 42.9% and 43.5% respectively. This is the second price increase for this service since its launch. Apple also raised the price of its game subscription service, Arcade, from $4.99 to $6.99 per month, and the subscription fee for News+ increased from $9.99 to $12.99, representing increases of approximately 40% and 30% respectively. The price of Apple Music increased one year ago by $1, but this time there was no price increase, and the monthly fee remains at $10.99. Due to the price increases of individual services, Apple's Apple One service bundle has also been adjusted accordingly. The basic package, which includes TV+, Arcade, Music, and 50GB of iCloud storage, increased to $19.95, an increase of approximately 17.8% from the original price of $16.95. The family package also increased by $3 to $25.95, representing a 13% increase. The high-end Premier package, which includes News+ and Fitness+, increased from $32.95 to $37.95, an increase of approximately 15.2%. Commentators believe that this price increase reflects Apple's efforts to generate more revenue through its services. In other words, Apple aims to increase the revenue from its service business. The second-quarter earnings report released at the end of July showed that Apple's service revenue exceeded expectations, with a YoY growth of 8.2% and a record high for a single quarter, accounting for 26% of Apple's total revenue. However, except for Mac computers, Apple's hardware product revenue declined in the second quarter, marking the first consecutive YoY decline in total revenue since 2016. On the same day as the price increase announcement, it was reported that Apple will release a series of new headphones next year. In September of this year, Apple released the iPhone 15 series phones with USB-C interfaces, along with the second-generation AirPods Pro headphones that are compatible with USB-C interfaces, priced at $249. The AirPods Pro features a new software function that automatically turns off noise cancellation when the user speaks, thanks to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Media reports on Wednesday stated that Apple will release the high-end noise-canceling wireless headphones, AirPods Max, next year. It is possible that the charging interface will also be USB-C, and new color options will be available, not limited to white. The current price of AirPods Max in the United States is $549, and it is unclear whether there will be a price increase. Apple will also release the fourth-generation AirPods, updating the current $129 basic AirPods and the $169 mid-range version. The new generation of earphones will feature a new design with shorter stems, and some versions will have noise-cancelling capabilities. According to reports, Apple is also planning to release a new version of the AirPods Pro in 2025. It is expected to feature a new design and chip, and is currently being developed to incorporate health-related hearing functions.
