According to the latest report, Tesla is preparing to launch an improved version of Tesla at its Shanghai Gigafactory to cope with the increasingly intense competition in the Chinese market.
On the 27th, media quoted insiders as saying that Tesla is preparing to launch an improved version of Tesla at its Shanghai factory, which may start mass production as early as mid-2024.
Insiders said that compared to the upgraded Tesla in October, the appearance and interior of the 2024 model will undergo more noticeable changes, but no detailed information was provided. The upgraded Tesla in October featured updated wheel designs and added multi-color ambient lighting.
One insider said that the first batch of the latest Tesla models will be produced at Tesla's Shanghai Phase 2 factory, which will be shut down for about a week during the New Year holiday for partial upgrades. They added that more adjustments need to be made before mass production.
Established in 2019, Tesla's Shanghai factory currently produces more than half of Tesla's global electric vehicle deliveries.
According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the estimated sales data for new energy vehicles shows that in November this year, Tesla's Shanghai factory delivered over 82,000 electric vehicles, a 14% increase compared to the previous month. In the first 11 months of this year, the cumulative delivery volume has reached approximately 854,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of over 30%.
