Report: Anthropic, one of the three giants in AI big models, is expected to surpass an annual revenue of $850 million next year.

Looking ahead to 2024, as the arms race in large-scale models intensifies, the top players following closely behind OpenAI will also reap substantial industry dividends. According to media reports citing informed sources, Anthropic, a star AI startup backed by Amazon and Alphabet-C, is expected to generate annual revenue exceeding $850 million by the end of 2024. Annual revenue typically reflects the previous month's revenue multiplied by 12, so this forecast implies that by the end of next year, the monthly revenue of this startup will reach at least $70 million, more than eight times the growth compared to around September of this year. This forecast represents a significant increase from the company's estimate just a few months ago. Just three months ago, Anthropic told some investors that it expected annual revenue to reach $500 million by the end of 2024. It is still unclear why the latest forecast has been significantly raised. Anthropic has already received billions of dollars in investment and computational support from Amazon and Alphabet-C. It is currently raising approximately $750 million from Menlo Ventures and other investors at a pre-investment valuation of $15 billion, a threefold increase from the previous financing round. Anthropic is the hottest AI large-scale model developer after OpenAI. The founding team of Anthropic comes from OpenAI, but they established their own company due to disagreements with their former employer on AI safety issues. According to Anthropic's website, its clients include companies such as Notion, Quora, and DuckDuckGo. However, in terms of business scale and revenue, Anthropic still lags behind OpenAI. Based on recent revenue growth trajectory, the annual revenue of OpenAI is likely to have already exceeded $1.5 billion, and OpenAI is seeking financing at a valuation of over $100 billion, more than six times that of Anthropic.
