Apple is secretly developing an AI tool to help employees improve work efficiency.
On February 23, according to MacRumors, Apple has developed a tool similar to ChatGPT called &#34;Ask&#34; for its AppleCare support advisors. This tool can automatically generate replies to technical issues from customers. Advisors can then forward this information to customers via online chat or phone.
&#34;Ask&#34; automatically retrieves relevant information from Apple's internal knowledge base to answer questions. Advisors can rate the answers as &#34;helpful&#34; or &#34;not helpful&#34; and can ask up to five follow-up questions on each topic. Currently, only a few advisors have access to this AI tool. Apple plans to provide this tool to more advisors in the future after collecting feedback.
Apple encourages participating advisors to actively use &#34;Ask,&#34; stating that the tool helps solve complex or unfamiliar problems. As the tool is linked to Apple's internal knowledge base, the company can ensure that the replies are authentic, traceable, and useful.
Media predictions suggest that Apple will extensively adopt generative AI this year. On January 7, well-known tech blogger Mark Gurman revealed that Apple plans to introduce a series of generative AI tools at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June as part of the iOS 18 system. These AI tools are built on a large language model called Ajax internally at Apple, which has been in testing since early last year.
During a recent earnings call earlier this month, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the company is actively developing generative AI software features.
