The Xiaomi SU7 will come in four variants -- a regular version, a Pro version, a Max version, and a limited Founders Edition -- local media outlet Yicai reported today, citing information from a mobile app's &#34;car inquiry&#34; section. All four variants are basically the same in terms of looks and size, with the two lower-trim variants being 15 mm taller than the two variants at a height of 1,455 mm. Other than that, the main difference between the lower and higher-trim models is in the motor and battery, the report noted. Xiaomi will hold its launch event for the SU7 today starting at 7 pm Beijing Time, which as of writing is three hours away from starting. Previous regulatory filings have revealed a handful of specifications for the Xiaomi SU7, including length, width and height of 4,997 mm, 1,963 mm, 1,440/1,455 mm and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The model's battery pack will be available in two capacities -- 73.6 kWh and 101 kWh -- and will be able to offer a range of up to 800 kilometers, according to a filing from last December. It's worth noting that earlier this month, Xiaomi filed for a new version for the SU7 with more weight, which could mean a larger battery pack and range. Yicai shared more specs on the Xiaomi model in today's report. Both the regular and Pro versions of the Xiaomi SU7 are rear-wheel-drive single-motor models, with the regular version having a 220-kW motor and 400 Nm of torque, while the Pro version has 275 kW and 438 Nm respectively, according to the report. The regular version of the model is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.28 seconds, while the Pro version is 4.68 seconds. The two less expensive models also differ in terms of battery capacity, with the regular version getting a 73.6-kWh pack and a CLTC range of 668 kilometers. The Pro version comes with a 101-kWh battery pack and a CLTC range of 900 kilometers, according to the report. Notably, on March 27, Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun said in a Weibo post that the standard version of the Xiaomi SU7 has a 700-kilometer range, while the Max version has a range of 800 kilometers. The Xiaomi SU7 Max and Founders Edition, the two more expensive models, both feature a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive powertrain, according to Yicai. The Max edition has 495 kW of motor power and 838 Nm of torque, and can sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.78 seconds. The Founders Edition can be seen as the performance version of the Xiaomi SU7, with motors that have a maximum horsepower of over 1,000 Ps and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 1.98 seconds, according to the report. Both of these more expensive models use ternary lithium batteries from CATL, with battery packs of 101-kWh capacity and ranges of 800 kilometers and 700 kilometers, respectively. In addition to the motors and batteries, the lower-priced models also differ in smart and comfort features compared to the higher-priced ones. The two lower-trim variants of the Xiaomi SU7 don't come standard with air suspension, soft close automatic doors, HUD (heads-up display) and active noise cancellation, according to the report. The information has not been confirmed by Xiaomi, Yicai noted, adding that a Xiaomi EV store salesperson said that the SU7 will probably be offered in more than just two variants, the standard and Max, and that there could be surprises at launch. Earlier today, Lei posted several Weibo posters suggesting that the Xiaomi SU7 will be the fastest production car priced under RMB 500,000 ($69,200). The Xiaomi SU7's pricing is expected to be announced at the launch event later today.
