TSMC issued a statement in the morning, stating that to ensure personnel safety, partial factory areas have been evacuated according to internal procedures, the safety system is normal; detailed information is still pending confirmation. Some quartz tubes in TSMC's plant have ruptured, causing partial damage to online wafers. Some machines have been temporarily shut down for inspection to prevent misalignment.
TSMC stated that the earthquake will not have a significant impact on the industry chain. A TSMC spokesperson mentioned that some employees have been evacuated from the production line.
Based on the current situation, it is estimated that working hours will be affected within 6 hours, with an impact of approximately $60 million on TSMC's second-quarter financial forecast, but the overall impact is limited.
Some analysts suggest that GPUs may see price increases. Other analysts point out that there may be aftershocks in the near future, but in the long term, it should not have a significant impact on the industry chain
