Lenovo releases multiple AI computers with embedded personal intelligent agents

On April 18th, the 2024 Lenovo Tech World was held in Shanghai. At this conference, Lenovo released more than 10 AI PCs with 5 major features, 10 applications, and embedded personal AI assistant "Lenovo Xiaotian." The 10+ AI PCs released this time cover Lenovo's ThinkPad, ThinkBook, YOGA, Xiaoxin, and other product lines. Lenovo claims that these are truly personalized AI computers in the current Chinese market. According to the introduction, Lenovo's AI PCs have five major features, including embedded personal large models and user natural interaction AI assistant, personal knowledge base, local heterogeneous AI computing power (CPU/GPU, NPU), open artificial intelligence application ecosystem, personal data and privacy protection. Lenovo pointed out that with these five major features, PCs will no longer be Personal Computers, but AI Personalized Computers, personalized AI computers (AI PCs). Lenovo Xiaotian, which made its official debut for the first time, is a "personal AI assistant" exclusive to users. Lenovo Xiaotian is driven by the embedded local Tianxi large model and can use AI skills through natural interaction, such as voice or keyboard input. The so-called intelligent entity, as Lenovo points out, is based on large models, surpasses large models, and has multiple functions such as knowledge base retrieval and active perception. In the product demonstration at this conference, Lenovo Xiaotian can generate relevant themed PPT by simply instructing it through voice commands Lenovo has brought more than a dozen core applications with Lenovo Xiaotian, including AI Painter, AI PPT, document summarization, knowledge Q&A, AI image recognition, meeting minutes, and more. It is understood that Lenovo Xiaotian will be pre-installed in Lenovo AI PCs. With the support of a personal knowledge base, Lenovo Xiaotian can continuously deepen its understanding of users. After integrating into the open AI application ecosystem, Lenovo Xiaotian can provide users with richer AI skills. At this conference, Lenovo also jointly initiated the preparation of the AI terminal industry ecosystem alliance with the industry. Lenovo will also rely on the "one core, multiple terminals" strategy to break through, with Tianxi AS (personal intelligent system) as the core, extending applications and experiences to AI tablets, AI phones, and various smart IoT devices, achieving cross-device interconnection. AI is currently accelerating its landing on the PC side, with Microsoft, Samsung, Dell, Honor, and others having launched their own AI PC products. Apple also emphasized the AI capabilities of its new MacBook Air M3 model when it was released. As Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger stated at CES 2024 earlier this year, "AI PCs are the 'Cambrian explosion' moment for personal computers," and AI PCs will experience a "Cambrian explosion" moment. Lenovo Chairman Yang Yuanqing stated that the global market share of AI PCs is expected to reach 10% this year. In Lenovo's view, hybrid artificial intelligence is an inevitable path. Yang Yuanqing stated that public large models are the catalysts and accelerators for the popularization of AI, but there are limitations in terms of network speed, cloud efficiency, cost considerations, data privacy, and more. In the framework of hybrid artificial intelligence, personal large models and enterprise large models, as well as the development of personal intelligent agents and enterprise intelligent agents based on them, will coexist and complement public large models, providing more personalized services and meeting privacy protection needs
