Zeekr says updated Zeekr 009 gets over 6,000 orders 10 days after launch

Image credit: Zeekr) Zeekr announced the order numbers for the updated Zeekr 009 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), which was launched earlier this month, to demonstrate strong initial acceptance. The all-new Zeekr 009 has received more than 6,000 firm orders in its 10 days on the market, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of the Geely Holding Group announced today. Zeekr launched the updated Zeekr 009 and its right-hand drive version in Hong Kong on July 19, marking the first time it has held the launch of a major product in a city outside the Chinese mainland. The updated MPV offers six-seat and seven-seat options, unlike its regular predecessor which only offered six-seat versions. Deliveries of the Zeekr 009 for Chinese mainland customers would begin on July 22, and deliveries of the right-hand drive version in Hong Kong would start in the fourth quarter, Zeekr said at the July 19 launch. Zeekr did not mention today how many of the new Zeekr 009 have been delivered to date. The Zeekr 009 was initially launched in the Chinese mainland on November 1, 2022, and is Zeekr's second model after the Zeekr 001, with deliveries beginning in February 2023. On January 15 of this year, Zeekr rolled out the 2024 Zeekr 009 with a small increase in starting price and better features. On April 19, Zeekr launched the four-seat Zeekr 009 Grand, targeting the premium segment, including business owners, by making it an all-new model beyond the regular Zeekr 009. The updated Zeekr 009 is available in the Chinese mainland in three variants with starting prices of RMB 439,000 ($60,560), RMB 459,000 and RMB 469,000 respectively. The right-hand drive version of the Zeekr 009 available in Hong Kong has a subsidized starting price of HK$755,000 ($96,660). The higher-end, four-seat Zeekr 009 Grand is only available in one trim in the Chinese mainland, with a starting price of RMB 789,000. In addition to the Zeekr 009, Zeekr's current models on sale include the Zeekr 001, Zeekr 007, and Zeekr X. The company will launch the Zeekr 7X SUV for the family market later this year, which will also be available in left-hand drive and right-hand drive versions. In the first half of the year, Zeekr delivered 87,870 vehicles, up 106.11 percent year-on-year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
