X begins rolling out support for passkeys on Android

X (formerly Twitter) is rolling out support for passkeys on Android, enhancing security for users by requiring physical access to their devices for logins. This feature follows its previous launch for iOS users in April. Passkeys, which use biometrics or physical security keys, replace traditional usernames and passwords, reducing vulnerability to phishing. This addition may assist users who lost SMS 2FA access when it was removed for free users last year. Users can enable passkeys by selecting settings in the app and following prompts to add a passkey.
