In contrast, preliminary monthly wage data showed an annual growth rate of 1.9%. The revisions on Wednesday apply to the total wage level in March 2024 compared to the previous year. In most of the recent years, preliminary monthly wage data has outperformed QCEW data. Others believe that immigration is also a factor contributing to this difference.
