Indonesia awards Central Andaman, Amanah, Melati oil and gas blocks

Indonesia has awarded three oil and gas blocks in its first auction round of the year. The Melati block, estimated to contain 4.7 trillion cubic feet of gas and 850 million barrels of oil, was awarded to a consortium including Pertamina Hulu Energi, Sinopec, and KUFPEC. The Central Andaman block, with 100 million barrels of oil and 500 billion cubic feet of gas, went to Harbour Energy's Premier Oil and Mubadala Energy. The Amanah block, containing 50 million barrels of oil and 450 billion cubic feet of gas, was awarded to a Medco Energi-led consortium. The selection for the remaining two blocks is ongoing, and a second auction round will offer several new blocks later this year.
