The Hong Kong Observatory is assessing the time to issue the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 this afternoon due to the impact of heavy rain bands bringing strong winds and heavy rain to Hong Kong. Therefore, the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal will be maintained at least until Friday noon. The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited announced that if the No. 8 or above Typhoon Signal, Black Rainstorm Warning, or Extreme Conditions Warning are still in effect at 9 a.m., trading will be suspended in the morning. Due to the current No. 8 Typhoon Signal, trading arrangements for the securities market (including Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect Northbound Trading) and derivatives market will be affected today (Friday). If the No. 8 or above Typhoon Signal, Black Rainstorm Warning, or Extreme Conditions Warning are still in effect at 9 a.m., trading will be suspended in the morning. If the No. 8 or above Typhoon Signal, Black Rainstorm Warning, or Extreme Conditions Warning are canceled by noon or earlier, trading in the securities and derivatives markets of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited will resume in the afternoon, and trading will start at the hour or 30 minutes after the cancellation of the No. 8 or above Typhoon Signal, Black Rainstorm Warning, or Extreme Conditions Warning. If the No. 8 or above Typhoon Signal, Black Rainstorm Warning, or Extreme Conditions Warning are still in effect at noon, trading in the securities and derivatives markets will be suspended for the whole day
