iOS 18 lets you replace Apple’s camera app with Halide or Obscura on the lock screen: Here’s how

With iOS 18, users can now replace the default camera app on the lock screen with third-party apps like Halide and Obscura. To do this, users must enter lock screen customization mode, delete the default camera icon, and add a shortcut for the desired app. Once set, tapping the new shortcut opens the selected camera app, allowing users to take photos without accessing the photo library directly. Although it may take slightly longer to open a third-party app compared to Apple's default, users can still access Apple’s camera by swiping right on the lock screen.
