The composite PMI index for September was 54.4, slightly lower than August's 54.6, with economists expecting it to drop to 54.3. Both the services PMI and manufacturing PMI show signs of slowing down, especially with the manufacturing PMI dropping to a 15-month low of 47. The pace of price increases is accelerating, which may raise concerns about inflation.
