TechInsights: Apple iPhone 16 Pro model continues to maintain strong demand in the third week

According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, TechInsights stated that the Apple (AAPL.US) iPhone 16 series will be launched on September 20, 2024. TechInsights' research in the past two weeks found that compared to the iPhone 15 series in 2023, this year's delivery cycle has been shortened. In the third week of the release window, the delivery time for iPhone 16 and 16 Plus continues to shorten each week, and they are available for immediate delivery in most major markets. Increase in Pro Model Shipments in the Second Week In the second week of the listing window, this trend continues, with the demand for iPhone 16 and 16 Plus in first-tier markets starting to decrease, shortening the delivery cycle by 1-2 weeks compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the delivery cycle for iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max remains relatively stable each week. On a weekly basis, except for Japan, the delivery cycles for iPhone 16 and 16 Plus in the other four countries have been shortened, from 7-10 working days a week ago. In contrast, the delivery times for iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are similar or even longer, indicating an increased demand for 16 Pro in the United States and 16 Pro Max in Japan. Compared to the second week of the 2023 listing window, this year all four models have seen shortened delivery times in the United States, China, India, and the United Kingdom. For non-Pro models, orders in the United States, China, and the United Kingdom took an average of 14 days to complete in 2023. However, this year, the delivery period in the United States, India, and the United Kingdom has been significantly shortened to within 1 week. Consumers in China and Japan still need to wait until mid-October, but Chinese customers can receive their orders a few days earlier than before. As for the Pro models, the delivery time has been shortened by 1-2 weeks, but the difference between 2023 and 2024 has narrowed - the delivery cycle for Pro models in 2023 started to shorten in the second week, but this year it has remained relatively stable or even extended each week. Compared to last year, the delivery cycles for these four models have been shortened, indicating a diversified demand for Apple in the world's top five markets (except Japan, where the market performance is relatively better). However, we also observed a pattern where in the second week, the Pro models remained stable, and as the demand for non-Pro models weakened, their proportion in shipments began to increase. Strong Demand for Pro Models in the Third Week In the third week of the release window, the delivery time for iPhone 16 and 16 Plus continues to shorten each week, and they are available for immediate delivery in most major markets. In contrast, during the same period in 2023, it took an average of two weeks for iPhone 15 and 15 Plus to arrive. However, the demand for the Pro series remains strong In most countries, the delivery time for iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max has not changed (in China, the delivery time for Pro Max has even increased), and the delivery time for 16 Pro Max is approaching the record set by last year's 15 Pro Max (around 35 days in the third week). As time goes on, the delivery cycle for Pro models usually significantly shortens week by week. This unusual pattern this year may indicate that Apple's delivery will include a combination of more high-end models.
