Apple confirms to hold a Mac launch event next week, planning to release multiple M4 models

According to the financial news app Zhitong Finance, Greg Joswiak, the marketing head of Apple (AAPL.US), announced on social media that the company plans to release news related to the Mac computer product line in the coming week. This indicates that the long-awaited models featuring the new M4 chip are about to be launched. Although Joswiak did not specify which products Apple will release, sources familiar with the matter stated that Apple will unveil the first batch of Mac computers equipped with the M4 processor. The M4 chip was first introduced in May as part of the latest iPad Pro, enhancing the processing power for artificial intelligence tasks and improving the overall speed of the CPU. The Mac computers to be launched next week with this chip will include the latest iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini. The company's AI platform, Apple Intelligence, will also make its debut next week. This software was initially launched on October 28th as part of updates for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. While the M4 chip excels in running AI functions, the software can also run on current Mac models. The base version of the M4 chip will be used in the iMac, the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, and the entry-level Mac mini. The high-end Pro version will be included in the more advanced versions of the new mini model. The higher-end MacBook Pro will also be equipped with a higher-performance version of the M4 chip. Although the new iMac and MacBook Pro will have a similar appearance to the current versions, the Mac mini will undergo a significant external redesign for the first time in over a decade. It will become smaller, approaching the size of an Apple TV set-top box. At least some versions will have five USB-C ports for connecting accessories. Apple will also update its Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad accessories for the first time in several years. The new models will replace the Lightning port with a USB-C port - part of a broader shift driven by EU regulations.
