Construction of Terminal 3 at Shanghai Pudong Airport has begun, with plans to introduce an airport link line and multiple metro lines
On November 20th, the main construction of the Phase IV expansion terminal project at Shanghai Pudong Airport, a key project in the national "14th Five-Year Plan," commenced. As the core project of this expansion, Terminal 3 is located on the south side of Terminals 1 and 2 and the satellite hall, with a designed capacity of 50 million passengers. According to Shanghai Airport Group, the ground transportation for Terminal 3 will follow the principle of "public transport priority, rail transit priority," and plans to introduce north-south airport connection lines, Metro Line 2, and the Nanhui branch line, as well as east-west Metro Line 21. The airport connection line will have stations at Pudong Airport Terminals 1, 2, and Terminal 3, facilitating passenger transfers between different terminals. (The Paper)
