With 10 million tickets sold from 149 concerts, &#34;Taylor Swift&#34; has achieved a total revenue of $2.1 billion from her &#34;Eras Tour,&#34; making it the most successful commercial tour in history, and she has even been dubbed the &#34;walking GDP.&#34; Moreover, her current dominance in the cultural and music fields has reached the level of The Beatles over 50 years ago.
This is the first time the revenue figures for the tour have been officially disclosed, far exceeding the previous record set by British musician Elton John during his five-year tour. Elton John's &#34;Farewell Yellow Brick Road&#34; tour had a total revenue of $939 million, with as many as 300 performances, but &#34;Taylor Swift&#34; achieved more than double his revenue with less than half the number of performances.
Furthermore, Taylor Swift's concert revenue does not include tickets that were scalped for thousands of dollars, nor the revenue from merchandise sold on-site. When tickets went on sale in November 2022, the Ticketmaster system crashed, leading to a lawsuit by the U.S. Department of Justice against the ticketing giant, accusing it of monopolistic practices in the industry.
Recently, &#34;Taylor Swift&#34; also published a photo book about the Eras Tour, which has seen explosive sales, selling as many as 814,000 copies in its first weekend of release. Additionally, according to data company Luminate, last year Taylor Swift's songs accounted for 1.8% of all music sales in the United States, meaning that one in every 78 songs played was one of hers
