According to Kyodo News, Honda and Nissan plan to finalize the framework for their business merger around the end of January next year. The two sides will focus on discussions at the merger preparation committee to be established in the future. Honda and Nissan announced on the 23rd that they have fully launched consultations, planning to sign a merger contract in June next year and establish a holding company that includes both parties and go public in August 2026. If the merger is realized, the new company's annual sales will exceed 30 trillion yen, making it the third-largest automotive group in the world by sales volume. Mitsubishi Motors, the largest shareholder of Nissan, will decide whether to join the consultations around the end of January next year, and the merger framework finalized by Honda and Nissan will serve as an important basis for judgment
